Abstract  Because of the localization and globalization, "urban agglomeration" have already become an important platform for economic growth. With the rapid development of the economy, the interurban competition, to some degree, is replaced by the competition among urban agglomerations. The interaction between transportation network and urban agglomeration has been one of the hot spots in urban research. ChangshaZhuzhou-Xiangtan urban agglomeration (CZXUA) is one of the important urban agglomerations along the Yangtze River, and the development of transport infrastructure plays an important role in the integration process of CZXUA. In this paper, the development level of transport infrastructure is divided into the traffic investment level (TIL) and traffic scale level (TSL). The TIL is measured by the railway density, road density, highway density and inland waterway density. And the TSL is measured by the total social passenger volume, cargo volume and per capita civilian car ownership. At the same time, this paper analyzes the integration level of CZXUA by using the Regional Economic Linkage Intensity Model and the Urban Flow Intensity Model. Finally, the paper studies the relationship among the integration level of urban agglomeration and TIL, and TSL by using VAR model and Granger Causality Test.
